You Are Home are proud to announce that this week we have been confirmed as the only provider of Serviced Apartments in the North West to be accredited as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation. By committing to the Living Wage, You Are Home guarantees that all employees receive a significantly higher minimum hourly wage than the government minimum.
You Are Home provides Serviced Apartments exclusively for corporate use, accommodating those travelling to Manchester for business. In the North West, nearly a quarter of all jobs are paying less than the real Living Wage. Despite this and the fact we are just 2 years old, You Are Home are proud to say we have always committed to paying the real Living Wage and promise to keep doing so, agreeing with Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham’s plans to pay all employees a Living Wage.
As a company with health and wellbeing at the forefront, we create a home from home experience and encourage companies to consider workforce wellness by selecting us to accommodate their staff. You Are Home not only prioritise the wellbeing of our guests, but also our own employees by voluntarily rising above the benchmark for the cost of living.
Graham Griffiths, Director of the Living Wage Foundation, said: “We are delighted with You Are Home’s trailblazing commitment as the first accredited Living Wage Employer in the North West’s Serviced Apartment industry, helping to support and uplift workers in their sector. We hope that their leadership encourages other firms in the sector to follow their example, and consider accrediting with the Foundation.”
David Cahill, Managing Director of You Are Home says: “At You Are Home we believe that every single employee’s efforts make the company the success that it is. It has been a tough year for the company, and we couldn’t have made it through the pandemic without the dedication of every single employee, and they deserve to be rewarded accordingly. We are like a family and as such, it is important to us that we offer not just the minimum, but a fair living wage that reflects all their hard work and commitment.”
